I have been using openid for a while now, but I have not run into any troubles or confusions, it just works well as others.

I share your confusion. I've spent an hour or so reading lots about OpenID on the Web and downloading and setting up my own PHP-based server (which turns out not to be necessary or even a good idea).

After all that, I'm still not clear on basics such as how do I negotiate with a website that uses OpenID as to which of my private pieces of information do they get access? Two different websites might want my email address, but I might want those two email addresses to be different. How is this done with only one ID? This is just one small example of my confusion...

I have been using OpenId for a while (my provider is MyopenId.com), ever since Blogger began supporting it.
