Well I have always worked with different web hosting companies, mostly I opt for the hosting companies according to my client list. And thanks for suggesting a few more companies in this blog.

I operate a whole bunch of websites across different hosts and on different platforms. Firstly If I was looking to buy web estate I wouldn’t buy it off the person who makes/designs the site. If they leave so does ur site. Pick a large corporate web hosting company even if it appears a little steep. Pick a web host with data centers in your region, i can not stress how important that can turn out to be when things go sour.
If the hosting package doesn’t mention a certain feature assume its not included. Anything your not sure about ask. Speaking of which be able to ask tech/sales questions live is hugely beneficial, try and find a host with live tech support.
I use streamline.net at home – great budget hosting
and I use easyspace.com at work both very good, although I feel streamline offers the better bang for your buck.
I seriously would not recommend hostonce.com (they are the devil’s host) and I wouldn’t recommend premierhost.co.uk either (waay over priced for an underspec’d service). Fasthosts.co.uk are alright but nothing special.

For shared hosting, I would recommend godaddy.com. For the money – bandwith, uptime and support is top notch. I’ve been a customer for over 3 years. I actually had a dedicated server at one point, but besides spending $250/month, I also had to compensate someone to manage the server when things went awry, which of course would cause me a nervous break-down. Dedicated Server can be rough – but I you have the traffic that requires a dedicated server, then its a good problem to have.

Well the only host I wouldn’t recommend would 1-on-servers. They suspended my account because of bandwidth reasons…

Here, here! Finding a good webhost can be really hard work. I simply haven’t got the budget for a dedicated server and that just complicates matters even more.
I finally found a party that seems good but you give good advise here and other people would be wise to read it and take it serious.

Its really hard to find a host for a website. I have a bad experience of a web designer/host for a job undone.
