Moving the furniture around

Moving the furniture

You may have noticed a few design tweaks going on around here, namely how comments are being presented. I’ve tweaked the design of comments and allowed space for including the MyAvatars plugin, so I can see your faces and marvel at how beautiful we designers are. ;)

In addition I’ve added the AJAX Edit Comments plugin which is in response to feedback from Vivien of Inspiration Bit. I’ve always held back from installing this plugin as I’ve heard it can be a bit of a resource hog. Let me know what you think or if you’ve noticed any performance issues.

I’ve got a few more tweaks in mind which I’ll look into over the coming days and weeks. I’d still love more feedback though, from regular readers and first timers alike, so please head over to my previous post and tell me how I can improve my blog.

Many thanks for the recent comments: Emalyse, Randa and Vivien.

Thanks for installing MyAvatars :P Nice sofa here…

The pleasure is all mine Napolux. It’s a nice plugin, so many thanks for sharing it with the community.

oh, I really like the way you dressed up the comments area - very easy on the eye and pleasant.
Thanks for installing the plugin, I didn’t notice any performance issues on my blog so far.

P.S. Aaron, did you install the latest version of the plugin? I didn’t see any timer countdown on yours. The latest version has fixed some previous bugs, so make sure you get that one.

Thanks for the positive comments Vivien. I think I’ve fixed the issue with the timer, but being a logged in user I have no way of checking.

Next time you comment do let me know if it’s working or not.

Actually there is a way for you to check the comments - simply log out and visit your own blog as a stranger :-)
But no worries, I’ll check it now.
Yep, it works, started counting from 15 min. Good job!

Aaron,

Thanks for installing the Ajax Edit Comments plugin. Let me know if you experience any noticeable performance hits and I’ll do my best to help you out. The big thing this thing requires is the jQuery library (about 20 KB) and of course the functional JS file (another 20 KB).

Ronald - Thanks for stopping by and commenting. It’s a very handy plugin and so far so good. I do get nervous of overdoing the plugins - at last count I’m at 23 - which is why I hold back from the more beefy plugins such as yours. But like I say, so far so good. :)

Have your say
