ok, i just got off the phone with a client who I've had to sell, resell and resell again on a logo design that she loves, but then goes around later and shows to people who tell her they don't like it. Clearly, this woman has no brain of her own. Is she just saying she likes it to please me and then once she's gone she let's whoever is near push her around? IT'S MADDENING! This has been going on for more than a month now. And worse yet, because she's an independant insurance agent, she has to get it approved by ALL the diff. insurance companies before she can use it. Won't that be fun? We can't even get off of square ONE!!! ARGGGGGGGHHHH......

And to Asgier: It's anonymous and besides, all of us designers need a place where we can SAFELY air our troubles... if we keep it bottled up inside we'll explode into tiny bits of flesh.

Moxy - Thanks for commenting, and welcome :) glad you liked the song.

Sera - Those last minute changed are inevitable - i know all too well. Maybe you should account for that when pricing and add a few hours for amends. Certainly for the repeat offenders.

Jez - It's the Audio Player plugin by 1 Pixel Out. I highly recommend it.

Scot - Rock on!

haha, glad you could use the song =D

As for my own horror stories, none in particular really stand out. Though my biggest pet peeve is how some people cannot comprehend the concept of designing and how much time goes into it. I mean, I can spend hours just picking out fonts and color combinations. When they tack on "a few small changes," (and believe me, they ALWAYS do), they just don't see they are tacking on an extra day/week/month's worth of work. Then they wonder why it's taking so long .. well, duh.

Asgeir - Maybe thats why hardly anyone has replied! Personally, I work in marketing so I AM the client and I know I can be a pain! To be honest, I wasn't hoping for a name and shame your crap clients post, just a bit of light-hearted fun. But maybe you're right and people's personal risk-averse PR machines are kicking in. Well, at least the song is funny. :)

Tara - In my work I give branding advice to people and I see it all the time - documents with HUGE logos plastered all over them. Subtlety is so much more effective than ramming branding down peoples throats.

Hahahaha, hilarious! :D

I'd like to add a couple of serious words, tho:

I don't understand why people would want to rant about their clients like this. More than ever before are employers Googling before hiring and that probably goes for regular clients as well, and it's probably not that interesting to hire some guy who seems to hate most of his clients.

I'm not saying you do, and I know the rest of the bloggers don't either, but I'm saying that's how it can be interpreted by a potential client. I don't know which situation you are in, but still. The only reason why I'm conscious about it is because I know I will be out looking for a job in the design industry within the next two or three years.
