Share your strangest blogging moment

I love MyBlogLog. It’s a great tool for pulling in visitors to my site and building a community, and also for finding other blogs and bloggers with similar interests to me.

MyBlogLog recent readersBut my favourite feature is being able to see your faces. I always build mental pictures of people I come across online, so it’s fascinating to see what you really look like.

But something strange has happened today… many of my MyBlogLog visitors appear to be animals. I kid you not, in the past few hours I’ve been visited by three dogs, one of which appears to be balancing an apple on its head, and even a cat.

Percy the Parson TerrierI had no idea my design and techy interests had such wide appeal!

So out of curiosity I clicked on to Percy the Parson Terrier’s ‘News Hound Up’ blog. I learnt lots from Percy’s blog, including how some neutered dogs have silicone testicle implants so their owners don’t feel their hound is any less of a dog after having the snip.

WOW!

So surreal, but utterly fascinating. That’s why I love MyBlogLog.

What’s your strangest blogging moment?

This could be anything: something that’s happened on your blog; a unique and memorable blog that you stumbled across; something you’ve learnt that you couldn’t quite believe; or anything at all out of the ordinary that has happened to you through blogging.

Many thanks to Paul for the previous posts’ comments.

Funny post. I was searching around for help on how to handle my “strong-willed” toddler and was going to post about it. I googled “strong willed toddler” and came up with this post at Lifehacker at the top of the list. I clicked on the link and there, to my amazement, next to the post is a picture of my son. I share photos on Stock.xchng and I guess the person who wrote that post at Lifehacker could tell just by looking at him that he is a handful and decided he was perfect for that post! It was total poetic irony- I couldn’t believe it.

my strangest blogging moment was when my website traffic increased from 500 to a steady 5000 visitors a day. a truly long strange moment of blogging is currently taking place as my webhoster plays rollercoster hosting with me :S

One of my strangest moments recently was when Lisa Sabin-Wilson tagged me with a meme on productivity, a subject of which I know nothing!
Still, it made me give it some thought and the overall project by Ben Yoskovitz at the Instigator Blog seems a pretty good idea, so I gave it a go and posted my own four tips.
All I gotta do now is tag someone else with the task.

Consider yourself tagged! :-)

[...] And I tag . . . Aaron at miLienzo.com [...]

Randa – OMG, that IS an amazing coincidence! Of all the photo’s of toddlers they could have picked? How bizarre – thanks for sharing the story.

Jez – 5,000 a day? That sounds like quite a peasant surprise. I’d like that to happen to me one day.

Stevie – Ah ha! I’ve never been ‘tagged’ before – how exciting! I will oblige and play the game though. I’ll give it some thought and post either tomorrow or later in the week. Many thanks.

I get visited by a fish every now and again!

– Scot

hi aaron,

well thinking about the ,mybloglog gadget… just the other day i’ve noticed that most of the blogs i visit are also visited by the same people.
i almost always find tara (from gaphic design blog), david (from creative design) and… quite often… you :) !

thanks,
webee
[is a design blog]

Scot – These blogging animals. A bit sad really… I even get a bee on my site from time to time… ;)

webee – Ah… hi :) This is true – You know I’m sure David spends half his day blogging. I don’t think I’ve ever read a blog where his little face is staring back at me on the MBL panel.

I get haunted by flies, 19th century aristocrats, Satan and all forms of virtual representation. Uncanny.
