The things in life worth shouting about
Posted 10 April 2007, by Aaron

I’m a fairly quiet, unassuming, easy to get along with and easy going kind of chap. Yet, there are some things in life that make me want to shout at the top of my voice, “LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!”
It happened in 1995 when I won the 100M sprint at the school sports day, it happened on the stroke of midnight, New Years Eve 1999, when the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen snogged me (still have no idea who she was), and it’s happened today.
I am one of five winners in the first round of the Creative Design Awards. I have been awarded the prize for my spoof iPod / Napoleon Dynamite advert.
The Creative Design Awards are an initiative by freelance creative designer, David Airey. Of the advert, David says:
I don’t know how to use Adobe After Effects. Aaron obviously does… I think it’s a job very well done.
Well, what can I say? Apart from, “LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!” I’m obviously delighted to be a winner, and especially so for the acclaim to come from an established and successful professional.
I think the Creative Design Awards are a great idea. It gives a few people a smile for the day, gives us a bit of traffic, and in return raises awareness of David’s blog. A great idea from a great blogger. Many thanks David.
Other winners of the award are:
- Andrew Davies’ The Paragon Muse blog
- Jen Huls’ Pop Stalin Design website
- Anonymous’ The Paper Bull blog
- Phil Renaud’s Blogging the Light Fantastic
Another great idea of David’s is to thank comments from the previous post, which as I rule I am going to begin doing today (including a few other recent comments). So without any further ado, many thanks to Steve W, Stevie B, David (again), the curiously named Evil Dildo, Richard, Randa … deep breath… and Char, Sean and Neil. Phew!
